Short Film Screening in Belfast!

We had a preview screening of Ribbons, our short film, on 21 December 2011 at the Crescent Arts Centre in Belfast. The screening was for cast and crew members and also staff at Gingerbread NI and Possibilities NI. About thirty people attended in total. The behind-the-scenes film about the making of Ribbons (which will be available soon) includes footage from the screening, so you'll all get to see excerpts from the screening and hear the trainees talk about the project. But in the meantime, here is a photo of the Supermom participants, the trainer, and additional cast and crew from the short film:

It was important to prepare the trainees for the larger event, first by showcasing their work and also encouraging them to introduce their film. Four of the trainees spoke at the event. Each one talked about a different area of the project such as the training, the shoot, the writing process and their hopes for the future. We then introduced the film and sat back to watch the fruits of our labours!

The film was received really well at the screening and the audience were really impressed with our work. The audience laughed at the right points and were emotionally moved by the right points, so that was a good start! I think we all felt relieved that the film had such a good reception. Afterwards we headed off for a delicious lunch and a hard-earned glass of wine at Molly's Yard. It was a great way to round off the training and appreciate all the hard work we had all put into the project.
